The Dashboard Voltmeter fluctuates*
OK new issue with My 87 MAX: The dashboard Voltmeter fluctuates*when driving at hwy speed and at idle.
Things I will try:
1. With Vehicle not running I will connect the voltmeter directly across the Battery Terminals. A Reading of 12.4 volts to 12.6 volts I will consider it fully charged.
2. Connect the voltmeter directly across the Battery Clamps on the Battery Cables with car running at idle . The Battery voltage Should read between about 13.8 to 14.2 volts.
3. Rev it to about 1500 RPM. The Alternator should now produce a battery voltage between 14.2 and 14.6 volts. If it is Lower than 14.2 volts, the Alternator probably has one or more Bad Diodes.
I welcome any help

It is analog vernk
Today I cleaned battery posts and positive and negative clamps, checked the battery ground all looks good.
The Test Equipment:
Fluke Digital volt/ohm meter and analog battery load and charging system tester.
Testing method:
1. Vehicle not running ground wire disconnected reading 12.67 Volts.
2. Vehicle running at idle 1st measurement 14.22V
3. Second measurement after warming vehicle at idle 14.15V
4. Reving Vehicle engine no change in numbers 14.15V Steady
I see a steady numbers on the Fluke DVOM no change when I rev engine higher Rpm.
When I check the analog dash Voltmeter fluctuations are small and constant in same volt range like a ticking of second hand on analog clock.
I could take video of this dash volt meter in action if this would help in diagnostics.
