Some minor repairs?

Derek:
Very nice work!

What if any modifications are you making to the rear suspension?

The transmission and differential in the Maxima were the same as the naturally aspirated 280z of the same vintage. If you are striving for 350HP from the turbo'd 2.8 liter L28ET you will most likely have to push the boost way higher than the stock 6-8psi.

Just a thought, based on some of the rust that I noted in the trunk area. The fuel tank has a thick rubber gasket, under the steel bands that attach it to the body. As a result, the tank is susceptible to crevice corrosion between the tank and the gasket, as the adhesive, that was used to attach the gasket to the tank, deteriorates with age.

If edge of the gasket looks rippled the tank is already leaking, and it is guaranteed to get worse. damhik.

How much boost 15-18 psi? Thougt ain't crap...as long as you install HD turbo Main bolts and ARP rod bolts with good pistons, shotpeened Oem rods or better you'll be Good! As far as the head bolts or studs I'd recommend ARP all day and an oringed block! I see the HD oil pump is in place the Turbo L28 had the high capacity oil pump....I built my Z24i Hardbody Motor with all the good parts but I skipped on a rebore and oversized pistons....I would love to invest in sidedraft style Individual Throttle Body FI but It's so damn expensive...I might do Sidedraft Carbs on my D21 Hardbody....But I don't wanna regress! Carbs suck Fuel Injection is the only way to go IMO...Away keep us posted...If I did go with an 810 Maxima It would be with a stroked L28 (3.1 L) maybe even boost it....Definitely have to upgrade tranny, brakes, and exhaust system....keep up the good work!
