85-86 Digital Dash Cluster

I have been restoring my 88 SE and a few weeks ago I bought a Digital Cluster out of an 85-87 Maxima. I haven't had time to install it plus I needed a few more items to make it work. Trans sensor being one of them. I took the wiring harness as well and the trip and fuel display that goes behind the shifter. I have most of the wires marked as to were that go. Being an odd part I didn't post it in the classified area as you guys may have some interest. I wanted to see if I could trade for a fuel pressure Regulator. Short on cash and just repainted my Max. More or less I put a lot in it in a sort amount of time to keep it on the road.

i think you need the fuel float sensor or something to that effect to go from analog to digital gauge cluster, i know on 3rd gens you do to swap clusters. should be the same for 2nd gens

cluster

I was short on time when I was at the junk yard. Its a pick and pull were you take your own parts off. Next time I go if its still there I was going to get what I need so it works. Hope I don't need a whole harness they charge by the foot for that. know I need a trans sensor. Have to figure out the fuel econo display that goes behind the shifter and tie all of them together. may be more trouble then whats its worth.

Yeah they are under new ownership prices a little bit higher they haven't made new price list prints yet. Still a dollar to go in the yard.

Last November me and three friends took a trip down there. We were able to hit 4 outta 5 yards in a day there. I'll be planning another trip down soon.

For the digital cluster i believe the speed sensor is different. I am not sure, but i also think the floater is different as well(as was mentioned above). I have an 86 that came stock with digital dash, so i never really looked at everything that is different. The fuel/trip computer was one of the things i really fell in love with when i got the car.

the speed sensor is different as well as the fuel level thingy. its a seperate canister in the tank thats bolted down. id just take the whole tank if you want to avoid welding in a gas tank....
