How to remove trunk carpet liners?

Hey guys. I haven't formally introduced my car yet, because its hard finding time to upload pics. i will soon, i promise.

Anyways, i have a question about the rear carpet liner. Whats the best way to remove those clips? I searched the forum and also my haynes manual, couldn't find anything.

The car came with subs and they were working fine when I bought the car. but now they only work when i'm taking a hard turn or if I hit a bump. I'm guessing its the ground, so I'm trying to backtrack, but I can't get the carpets out. Any special way to do this? I saw that for the newer gens, a flathead screwdriver would help, but it seems like those were clips. The ones in my trunk seem to be attached by cable.

anyone have experience with this? also, if you have any suggestions on how to get the sub to work all the time that would be appreciated! its an alpine amp with 2 punch subs and an eclipse headunit.

as for the sub make sure the ground is in a good spot other then that check your wiring starting at the battery, the hardest to check is going to be the rca and remote on the back of the deck....

does it pop at all when it cuts out or comes back on if so more then likely a power issue

Thanks.

Yeah i'm trying to remove the liner to check the ground, because i'm pretty sure its somewhere in the back. Sometimes if I go over a bumpy road I'll hear a random pop that sounds like the sub. As of now, the sub is working fine, so i'm gonna leave it. Hopefully its not the rca connection because the dash seems like a pain to remove..

Pulling the radio isn't too bad, it's just the screws in the bottom side of the ledges of the trim parts 4 of them I think, then the ones that hold the plate in, or depending on radio you might be able to pull it out of the mounting cage
