My 1984 Maxima started running extremely rich after replacing the fuel pressure regulator.

On testing the intake air temperature sensor in the MAF, I found that the resistance increased with increasing temperature (2.7K at 50F, 3.06K at 70F)..

I've search online for a replacement part, but cannot find anything.

Do the IATs from later generation Nissans have the same operating specifications?

I don't particularly want to replace the entire MAF.

Another option is to just replace the thermistor with a 2.2K resistor and live with $hitty cold start and idle performance. Has anyone done this???

If anybody is interested, I managed to fluke off a replacement IATS.

I had purchased an airbox and MAF from a 1995 Maxima several years ago.

The IATS in the 1995 was located on the right side of the air box, and was electrically identical the the 1984 IATS (measured 2.2k @68F with resistance decreasing with increasing temperature as required)

The mechanical difference is that it has only a partial shroud over the thermistor, while the original is fully shrouded, due to its placement directly in the intake throat of the MAF.

A couple days to mod the IATS shroud and repair the MAF (it takes 24 hours for the sealant to harden) and this issue will have been taken care of.

Next project will be to breadboard my CMOS replacement for the thermotime switch.
