The entire 1st and 2nd gen forum is all about the mechanical problems your having sell your cars and buy a nice 4th gen

 

I've looked at and even test driven some 4th gens before I bought my 2nd gen and a lot of the ones that I drove were in worse condition than my 2nd gen. My car only had 60K on the odometer when I bought it and I only paid $5000 cash for it. I'll be damned if I'm going to take out a loan and pay twice that for a car with more mileage on the odometer and in worse shape. Cars depreciate more than anything else you'll ever buy, so you're going to end up losing a hell of a lot more money on your 4th gen than I will on my 2nd gen!

Wow I wih I had a riced out 4th gen maxima like yours! I like the 1st throught 3rd gens better why? cause they have IRS(independant rear suspension). The 1st gen is my favorite, why? cause it has an L-series I-6 (perhaps the toughest motor nissan has ever produced) and its rear wheel drive. Plus you can make them really fast for next to nothing. All you gotta do is buy a 280ZXT for a few hundred dollars and swap motors and turn up the boost.

So what if they have some mechanical problems because of thier age. It just gives us better satasfaction, cause most people here do thier own work. I dont own a maxima but I know all about working on old nissans cause I got a '77 280Z and an '80 280ZX.

Sorry but telling us to sell our cars to buy a 'nicer' car just doesnt sit well with me.

 

4th gens are minimas.

 

4th Gens are sexy when modded and the fastest maxima (next to the '02 of course), 5th gens have OOOOOOGLIE taillights, and weird headlights, 3rd gens are too boxy and out-dated, and 1st and 2nd gen maximas are from the ice-age !

Like I said... 4th gens and especially 5th gens are Minimas.

Only 1st through 3rd gens and very few select 4th gens are Maximas.

 

For it's time the 4th gen maxima was the ugliest "maxima" (minima) ever made.
