Thought I'd make a short vid...

In the interest of seeing who's still alive around here on the 2nd gen forum, thought I'd make a short vid on my '87 SE. Bought my first '87 SE brand new off the lot, automatic, from Action Nissan in Kissimmee, FL, in Novemeber '87. Had her until '93. Paid $22.5K for her. This little girl I picked up from a mechanic in Clearwater for $1100 in '06, so I guess I've had her for 9 years. Know my way around our 2nd gens a bit...

Identical to the one in my garage right now. I agree they are bulletproof cars. Mine has 213k and has that same idle and shifting. Funny thing is my shifter and steering wheel are different but it is a late build.

Damon, my original '87 SE had a different wheel as well, although, since she was an auto, can't compare shift *****...although on my 5-speed, I swapped out the accordian boot for a leather wrap-around probably 5 years ago...just like the looks better. I will tell you, with the Royal Purple in the tranny, well, if you haven't tried it, I strongly recommend it! Redline is excellent too, from what I hear.

She gets a bath tomorrow...

Thats awesome, my dad bought a brand new 87SE back in 1987. It had 222k miles on it before i had to scrap it due to flood that hit houston in 2001. That car took us from houston TX to manhatten NY twice and was running good. The car was grey with the front air dam, rear spoiler, automatic with adjustable suspension. I believe it was a floater as it didn't have the voice box.

Nismo, mine was the dark charcoal gray, is that what your dad had? I had the voice warning, but turned it off...funny, now that I'm older and stupider, I kinda like it on my current Max...

On my original, the tranny started slipping a little bit in OD after a couple months, took her in and got a new transmission (under warranty), no probs after that. My 5-speed? Absolutely rock solid and bullit proof!!

nice video, I use Red line in my tranny since thats what was in it when I bought her like 8-9 years ago, and came with enough for a lube change and seems to do the job well still shifts smooth at 218k. For the lights maybe double check and make sure there isn't a led in the tail lights or something.
