1985 nissan maxima sedan

Hi, does anyone know where the motor is for the sunroof in the 1985 nissan maxima sedan...Please and thank you in advance.

The motor is basically above the sunroof switch/map light module. The removable plug right in front of the module gives you access to the motor shaft, which you can turn with a flat blade screwdriver to open or close the roof should you have no power or the switch is bad. When I first bought my '87 in '06, the switch was NFG. Went on ebay, found an entire replacement module, still works great today 9 years later. If your motor isn't working, first check the sunroof relay under the hood, driver's side by the batt. I doubt your motor is bad...

Thank you for the info..I will look into this...the roof does open and close, but the motor makes a loud noise and doesnt sound healthy at all.

This is what the sunroof motor on my current '87 sounds like...


When I bought my first '87 brand new, the motor in that girl sounded the same. Obviously, I need to lube the tracks...
