learned something about P/S pump and Rack failure
ver this weekend, I was doing a rack rebuild after fourth rack has failed and leaked, so I was careful doing it again. The pumpp I pulled off from the junkyard, I rebuild it, and the one currently on the car was from AutoCrap aka autozone was making a really bad noise or squealing, i pulled off the car and took it apart wondering what might cause it, low and behold when i was comparing to the junkyard part, the Autozone pump pressure valve was installed backward which was causing a huge amount of pressure and what caused all of the rack and pinion blowing their seals. Lesson here is that whenever get a pump from part store they are rebuild from Atsco or Endurance, they don't even know how to rebuild or assemble it back together correctly wonder why there so much bad rep about the reman pumps so inspect it before you turn in your core. So I rebuilt my junkyard exactly what it was and it ran perfectly, in addition I am returning the Autocrap to get a refund and no more parts from Autozone since their reputation was bad when it comes to high warranty issues returns.
