Q: Tool for Windshield washer nozzle alignment

Hello!

I have an 88 Maxima SE that I need to change the alignment of the windshield washer jets on.

I noticed, that there is a tiny square shaped whole between the 2 jet holes that could accomodate a special tool.

Any idea where I could get a hold of a tool like this?

You could try just using a paperclip. That's what I used.

Washer alignment

I normally use a scribe (tool for marking prior to machining). The ends are tapered better than a paper clip. I use the one that's straight on one end with a 90 on the other. Comes in handy for lots of other things, too.

The reason why I am looking for a special tool (I am not desperate, don't get me wrong), because it happened to me in the past (with different cars), that the jet was stuck and I used too much force on the jet hole to loosen it up and I ended up widening the hole so much that the jet stream lost its nice shape, it was spraying like a sick puppy.

The jetbody itself contains two jets, the left side is aligned perfectly I just need to touch the right side. If I mess with it by the jet hole, it will screw up the left side as well. Now, you all know why I was looking for a special tool.

I am about to call SPX Kent Moore to see if they have something, if they don't, I will have to live with what I've got. No big deal.
Thanks for the tipp though, I do have a scribe that you just described.
