WTB: Y Pipe

I need a y pipe for my VG 3rd gen since the flex section has a hole in it. I dont care if its an OEM or warpspeed etc, altho a power gain would be nice, any y pipe as long as its in GOOD condition. I am on a budget (being a teen) which is why i am looking here before buying a new one... so if anyones got a good one let me know...

contact the user here called "Used Parts"

I bought my warpspeed from him a few weeks ago for $150 shipped and it was in pretty good condition, still has many years on it.

He said he had a few lying around, so it might be worth checking out.

If All else fails I have my old stock Y-pipe in good condition laying around, it's just some of the threads in the o2 sensor hole are stipped so you have to play with the o2 trying to get it to go in nicely...

If it is just your flex pipe, any muffler shop can replace that single peice. A new Y-pipe does not come with nor replace your flex pipe. So, I'm not sure why you want or need to replace the y-pipe.

That section towards the right end is what has the hole in it, i dont know if its the flex section exactly but its part of the y pipe.

He means his flex "section"

I'm corrected. Looks like an aftermarket/new Y-pipe does come with the flex pipe (section). Doh!

"I need a y pipe for my VG 3rd gen since the flex section has a hole in it."

I understood your original question to indicate that believed you had to buy a whole new y-pipe in order to replace the flex section. Therefore, my point is still the same..... unless you're just wanting to upgrade to a better y-pipe (and have the money), a muffler shop can replace that flex section for no more than $100. Otherwise, if you can get the y-pipe and gaskets for less than that and install it yourself, go for it. But, you stated you are strapped for cash so I recommend having a shop just replace that section. SHOP AROUND! I've seen muffler shops charge $50-100+ dollars for the same peice of flex pipe/section.

I got my whole Y-pipe put on for $50 BTW. Just giving you general prices to help you decide. It was $200 total, for everything, installed.

well il keep looking on here or see if there are some cheap exhaust shops around otherwise the hole can stay there for now. Its relatively small and you cant hear it much and i dont tihnk there are many if any negative side effects of this hole, are there?

About worse case scenario is that it will throw off the air/fuel reading of the O2 sensor and may slightly reduce fuel economy. But, if the hole is as small as you indicate, any impact is likely to be unnoticeable unless you drive the exact same route day in/out and record your mpg at each fill up AND you have prior mpg to compare it to. As long as you are not getting any exhaust fumes into the cabin, not really going to do anything if you let it go for a bit. Naturally, the longer it goes the worse it will get.
