Oil pressure, oil temp and tranny temp gauges
Oil pressure, oil temp and tranny temp gauges
Any one with any of these gauges added to your car, where and how did you mount the sending units. I'm looking into getting some 2 1/16" Autometer Phantom electric gauges installed, but not sure if there are any existing places in a VE auto to intall the sending units. Wonder if a "T" fitting can be used at the stock oil pressure sensor down by the oil filter. Volt meter, coolant temp and air/fuel gauges are nothing. Just tap in a wire. Experience or ideas appreciated. Wanna do this before Nopi.
Re: Oil pressure, oil temp and tranny temp gauges
The oil psi gauge you have to get a Tee to keep the factory sender. BTW you will need a metric adapter too. I don't think you can tap into the ECU's coolant temp sensor because it has a different calibration than the autometer probe. Again insert a Tee into a coolant line (one of the ones that runs to/from the heater core). For tranny temp insert a Tee into the output line from the trans at the bottom of the radiator. Install a small trans cooler while your down there too.
