my 1/4 timeslips
I was wondering if you guys could take a look at some numbers from my timeslips and tell me what you think. I have a stock 92 SE 5 speed and went to the track my first time not long ago.
60 FT = 2.471
1/8 ET = 10.413
1/8 MPH = 68.37
1/4 ET = 16.180
1/4 MPH = 84.47
60 FT = 2.764
1/8 ET = 10.574
1/8 MPH = 69.03
1/4 ET = 16.195
1/4 MPH = 88.16
I couldn't launch, which could be because it was my first time and it all seemed to go by so fast. I think my clutch is old, heck it could be the OEM still in there for all I know (near 160,000 miles!) Whats going on with the big difference in trap speed on the two runs? I shifted near redline basically. I had another run that I didn't list with Aaron, we were running side by side but I missed the 2-3 shift and he pulled away there. My car never got a chance to run when it was cool completely, after Aaron's car warmed up we were running about the same times and he has an auto i/y/pullies.
Thanks for looking and for any suggestions.

And I also wonder why your trap speeds differ so much. Are you sure that you stayed on the gas until you completely passed the last white line?
And also, if you would have hooked up off the line like you did on the 1st 1/4 time, then you would have ran mid 15's on your second one. So, it looks like that traction is the biggest problem here.

well, i ran a 15.2 stock. it looks like you're either incinerating the tires off the line, or your clutch is slipping like mad! where are you shifting at?

yeah I was going all the way up to 6700 on both shifts, but another org member that drove a 4th gen 5 speed suggested I try the 2-3 shift a few hundred rpm's sooner because based on a dyno he had seen power might be falling off just before redline on that shift. Like I said it was my first time at the track so I was just trying things. I kinda expected more out of the car, but we'll see what happens next time out.

And I see you're from Greensboro. Go check out the Washington DC forum and see what's happening in your neck of the woods.
