to those that have stock fogs on their cars...

guys listen,
I need to know how to install my aftermarket fogs with the stock OEM switch on the dash?? The fogs are already installed I just want to know where to connect the wires and so that I can use the OEM switch on the dash cuz I don't want to use another switch for this. And I've already made a search for this and came up with nothin'. Any help will be very well appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

i cant remember the wire colors, but i just cut the stock harness and then matched the fogs positve with harness's positive (it was red or pink) and then the fog negitive to the harness's negitive which is black. then just plug in harness. btw, when i say cut the stock harness i mean the one that is on the stock fog lights, you dont have to do it this way but my stocks were in pretty bad condition.

Rick,

One guy on here has a site that's really good at explaining re-wiring lights, etc. Click here to link to craig's How-Tos. Good Luck!

ok guys,
Sorry if I wasn't very specific but I meant to say that my fogs aren't stock. My car never came with fogs. Ever since I got my max back from the body shop the guys there thought that my car brought fogs so they just tossed them in

Now these fogs that r on my car r not the stock ones. They work fine the thing is that I want to buy the fog switch and connect with that. The thing is what do I need to buy in order to connect the fogs and make it work with the switch

BTW: Where would I also connect the two wires to

Hope u guys understand me now.

That goes beyond me. You may want to consult a Factory Service Manual on that one. I'm not sure where the wires go or what they connect to between the dash and the lights.

sorry again...good luck

1) Say what you mean.
2) Pep Boys. Haynes repair manual. About $13.
Best thing you could buy for your car.

Your saying that you want to install the OEM fog light switch
with after market fogs?
Here's the wiring diagram.

This is not quite related to the original question, but is related to one of the answer:

Regarding the Haynes repair manual at Pep Boys, it seems like they got the year wrong or something. There's one titled "1985-1992 Maxima" with a 2nd gen. Maxima on the cover, and a "1993-1999 Maxima" version with the 4th gen. on the front cover. Which one covers the 3rd gen? I looked at the 1985-1992 one, and from quick browsing it seem to be mostly about 2nd gen Maximas.

I noticed the same thing, it's very annoying. I have a 93 SE, and I bought the book for the right model year (the 93-99 book) and it covers most of the engine stuff correctly, and tranny, but there are a ton of sections that say "excluding 93 model year" so I really can only use about 1/4 of the book. If you have a 92, go with the book for 85-92, it probably covers more of yours correctly, but I dunno if any of them cover every model year completely :/

Dude, the Haynes manual SUCKS! You'd be better off buying the factory service book used.
