Fuel injector cleaning service

Hi Guys
I am seeing some symptoms of clogged fuel injector..
- loss of power
- the engine vibrates and make drr..rr noise
- can't go above 65 mph

Of course replacing injectors is good option but my hands are tied for such a costly option..
I am thinking of other options right now

Adding BG 44K advanced fuel injector cleaner
or
going for fuel injector cleaning service by pep boys(repair shop)..($60-70)

I don't know which is a good option...!!!
Does any body have a good idea what all things will be done in fuel injector cleaning service? and has any body seen noticeable change /improvement in vehicle performance ?

Appreciate your help....

bg 44k is heavily used. Good stuff too...cleaned the heck outta my 95 altima. I think the best idea is take the injectors out, visit a trustworthy garage, and have them sonically and chemically clean them.
Prices vary a lot though...my friend got 4 injectors (93 prelude vtec) done for $35 somewhere in LA.

Be advised that "fuel injection cleaning service" and "fuel INJECTOR cleaning" are two different animals. THe typical pep boys service is a fluid fed through a vac tube..stays liquid in the chamber and removes carbon and crap from your valves, pistons, intake passages ets. If they are thorough (which they might not be unless you watch them do it!) they will hit the TB with cleaner and a toothbrush. The only other part of the service that even touches the injectors themselves is an additive that goes in the tank..you can do that yourself! The ONLY way of really servicing an injector is to remove it. Places that clean injectors will flow test, pattern test, clean and/or rebuild depending on the condition of the injector. Basic sevices like these cost about 30 an injector, IF they are not bad and in need of replacement. On a budget? I suggest you do this and find out how many you need. If an injector is good, it's good. No need to get expensive replacement. For less than $200, you get a few good like new injectors and find out which ones you need to replace. Have you checked all other options? Many conditions could cause those symptoms you described. Try ignition parts first, set timing, wires etc. If wires arc at higher engine speeds (ground out through the cracked or worn sheilding) you will get a similar response (limited speed). You can look at em, try spraying them Lightly with water or windex (ions conduct electricity)..you'll see the arcs and the car will run like ***. Fuel filter? Check that too. Finally, I have seen a cleaning system in the past that hooked up to the fuel rail..I saw it Summit a few years back..for 5.0 ford motors. Could easily be adapted to any fuel rail/line, but I have not seen it since then. I called Summit, but they could not find it for me. It would be worth looking into though. Good luck!

As for removing the injectors, the very best thing you can do is get a chilton (cheap), or factory service manual (FSM..not as cheap, but more thorough/detailed). Chilton should do for most do it yourselfers. I know of a place in Allentown PA, Fuel Injection Sales and Service. The prices I gave were based on what they quoted me. You can ship the injectors to them, and the turnaround is usually 24 hours, depending on the condition and work required. But for 24.99 each (I think that was the exact price, last year) they will put the injectors on a bench and test resistance, flow, spray pattern. Then clean or "rebuild"..you'll have ot inquire with them exactly what that entails. Search the web..oh yeah! I almost forgot...RC injectors will do the same service. Not sure on price, but I will bet workmanship will be top notch..they have a great reputaion in the world of fuel injection fo rall form of racing. I'd give them a shout first.
