My 93 SE is Shuddering

I was driving in to work this morning and punched it at the bottom(maybe 2000 rpms) of 4th gear and the whole car shuttered. I puched it again and it shuddered. I then shifted to 3rd gear and it grabbed. I haven't had that happen before. Just to describe the feeling....It feels like I am letting off the gas at high rpms. It's like I am letting off the throttle but I am not.....

Does it sound like my clutch is about to say goodbye?

I thought it could also be a bad plug(I have 50,000 on them) or a coil(haven't replaced them yet)

I am also wondering if the K&N air filter caused the MAF sensor to go hay wire....

Has anyone had their car shudder like this?

I would change the plugs. 50,000 miles on a plug is too much mileage if using the regular NGK's for our cars. In order to fix your problem I think you first need to get a tune-up, start with that and see how it goes.

I have got a set of NGK plugs on order..... I am also going to change the oil, filter, and PCV valve this weekend. It tends to only happen in the morning, in traffic, when there is alot of humidity(Atlanta is great for this). I thought that maybe the dampness was affecting the electrical system....thus causing the shudder. I guess we'll see....

Yep...they are about $50 a piece.

I can't remember the part numbers for the coils but you should be able to retrieve them by looking at the top.

Also, the new coils do not include the soft rubber part that cover the spark plug, you have to move the soft rubber parts from the old coil assembly to the new coils.
