Well...So far I've had good and not so good results with the Peal & Seal.
The good: I used about 2.5 rolls on my front doors and
A VERY noticable difference in the way the car sounds when I'm driving. I did the inner and outer sheet metal on both doors. They FEEL SOLID now too. The doors feel heavier and when I close the door all I hear is one solid thud. They sound and feel like they are made out of one solid piece of steel. And no Tar smell either. I like it.
The not so good: I used 1 roll on my trunk lid to try and stop that ghetto rattle I have, And I still got it.
I only did the outer layer of sheet metal on the trunk, maybe that is why. Anyone else done this, and possibly covered the inner layer of sheet metal too and had better results? From the outside it sounds mostly like my key hole and the chrome trim is doing most the the rattleing because they are a little loose. Any of you guys know what I can do to secure these things down?

your rattling in your truck area is most likely the license plate and or that middle piece check for anything loose on the out side of the car.. and other small things like the stud that holds the spare tire down has a ring around it that can rattle if not tighten down all the way.. lots of small thingsOriginally posted by D & S

And what do I need to do to secure the chrome trim down on the trunk? It's starting to come loose on the ends..ok...where exactly r u guys getting this stuff? i went to home depot and lowes and the guys there looked at me like i was...well, it wasnt a good look...
Try checking the hardware under the package shelf for the trunk lid counterbalance rods (whatever they're called
). Maybe something's loose.
I remember earlier talk about using this home building kind of Dynamat-like stuff and am glad it works well. How much did it cost you?

The Peal&Seal is only $12 for a 6 inch by 25 foot roll. So, roughly 1/5 the price of Dynamat. I found it in the roofing section of Lowe's(Around the shingles). It's supposed to be used to insulate and patch roofs. It's fairly small...Only 6 inches high, so look around for it, Just don't be expecting some huge *** roll. The only thing that is rattleing on my trunk is the center piece between the brake lights. How do I go about tightening this up? When I push against it and up(With my finger over the keyhole)It all goes away...Sounds sooo nice. Waannt that sound... Originally posted by Bman

to take the center part off, i think thereis eiher 6 or 8 little bolts you have to take off. There is one at each corner ad someunder the carpet on the underside of the trunk lid...hpefully you did't peel ad seal that up yet
Onc the bolts are off, just lift up on the center peice and it'll come off. dnomatted under this too to help stop rattles and you can tighten the key lock too withit off.
hope this helps.....but it's easy to figure out too

I found Peal and Seal at Menards. I think its a Northern MidWest home improvment center. They also had 16 inch wide rolls.
