soft top max? nissan option?
I saw a thread recently about a soft-top maxima on Ebay. I think JDwyer posted it. I saw another max on cardomain.com with a soft-top too. I'm sorry if this is a repost.. if it is, then lock this thread.

No, its not an option, its some trashy aftermarket thing that someone strapped on (and consequently molested) the Max with.
These are commonly found on Cadilacs (ghey) and Lincolns (even worse).

it is not an option from the factory and probably not from the dealer. When I lived in birmingham I remember people talking about taking their cars to shops to get this done...it was around that year between 90 and 95. That was the mod to do back then for some like chrome fender trim...funny thing is I remember someone saying it was going to cost like $1500 to get it done.
I never saw a dealer offer this but I do remember seeing them at shops getting them installed.
I have been around cars for a long time and have seen a lot of these fads come and go...and thinking they were ugly all along.
I remember seeing them on anything from 60s cars to the early 90s cars(the new cars at the time)
When I first heard someone say they were getting a soft top I thought they were getting their car converted to a convertable
