Putt Putt 3rd Gen?

The Org is in session!!!
1991 SE VG30E engine.
Has any one of you had issues with what seems to be a dead spot in the engine?
Here's the details:
In the morning or on completely cold starts,
Car starts fine,
Warms up a bit,
I take off and between about 1500 and 2000 RPM's, theres sort of a dead spot. It putts til about 2100 RPM's and then seems to regain power (no shutting off though).
What I've changed since I've noticed the problem.
Stock: Fuel Filter,Plug wires,Rotor,Distributor Cap.
K&N intake,changed oil,changed oil filter,new bosch 4 platinum spark plugs,changed tranny fluid,replaced L.H.(front) manifold bolts with resurfaced exhaust manifold.
I'm Stumped!!!! A sensor?
Once the car is driven on freeway or normal op temp, the problem seems to go away.
Any help would be HOT!:

I have sort of the same problem- sometimes my car has a lumpy idle and rough acceleration, always coming with the CEL coming on. I think it's the injectors, but I don't really know.

Many users have found platinum plugs to be a poor choice as opposed to the regular NGK plugs that nissan recommends. Did you have platinum plugs in the car before? I would maybe meet up with another org member if possible and swap his/her plugs into your car and see if that's the problem. You could also clean the entire air intake path: tube before airbox, airfilter (get a new one, drop in style, not K&N though cause people have had problems with drop in K&N), tube from airbox to throttle body, throttle body. Also check for vacuum leaks.

Get rid of those platinum 4 plugs. I would use NGK.

It sounds exactly like fuel injectors. I had the same problem. Do a search and you'll find plenty on the subject. Also, it's not cheap, you're looking at over $100 for each injector. Under a grand if yo do it yourself.

INJECTORS

Car had symptom before I added the parts listed above. I searched a bunch of times and what I found was that the injectors popped up about 75 percent of the time. I guess I'll replace those first, seeing how I would have to basically tear the top half of my engine off. This should allow me to clean the throttle body and tubing while I'm dirty. Thanks for the input I was thinking a fuel injector, but I think I was in denial because of the labor issue!
Thanks 3RDGENS

I am in the same boat with my fuel injectors...

After looking at Chilton's, I don't think the install would be too bad for fuel injectors. You basically have to remove the fuel rails and then the fuel injectors.

Do OEM Injectors come with the O-Rings?

I was reading another post and it looks like ultimatez.com is the place to get everything...

it's not that hard to remove all of the intake stuff at all. i did it with no book at all. i took it all apart while my tranny was out to polish the intake inside and out. wasn't sure if i would notice anything but since i couldn't drive the car i might as well have done something. the only problem that might occur is you'll need new intake gaskets which run 60 some odd dollars a napa because there are two metal gaskets (the metal ones are if you go lower thant he injectors though but i'm not sure if they sell just the paper ones, probably do) only other thing is there are A LOT of bolts (allen.hex head type bolts mostly) and you need to sort them well.
