comfort/power shift button doesn't work

I just pulled most of my interior out to put in sound deadening for my stereo. This involved pulling out some of the console/dash around the CD player. I just finished today and the interior went back in fine with minimal problems. The only thing that no longer works in the power/comfort switch for the shifter (its an auto). The switch feels alot sloppier and the "P" and "C" no longer light up. The car still shifts and stuff though. Is there any reason why this would've happened or is the switch just broken?

Also what is that little vent on the left side of the CD player? It had 2 wires and a 1/2" tube going to it.

You can pry the switch up with a small screwdriver and see if either of the harnesses came off.

Also, I've always wondered about that thing to the left of the deck too, mine doesn't have anything behind it.

Re: comfort/power shift button doesn't work

I took off the center dash piece to get to my cd player one time. I pulled everything out like you did and put it back in and the lights didnt work either. I looked around to notice that two little(i mean tiny lights for it) had fallen out of the switch. So mine dont light up now but it still works. I dont really mess with it that often because it will usually automatic shift according to how much force you put down on the throttle. So maybe you missed placed the little lights somewhere in the dash or behind it!!!!
