Found ABS problem

I think that I have finally found my ABS problem. Even though the computer was telling me that the problem was in my left front wheel sensor circuit, the problem actually laid in the rear wheels. The back brakes on the car had not been serviced in quite a long time. I disassembled the rear brakes and found that the rear sensor were incredibly dirty. Along with some corrosion on the sensor ring. I then at that point replaced the rear pads, machined the rear rotors (thank god that the rear rotors were above the 9.0 mm min thickness required). And replaced the rear pads. Since then I have not had a ABS malfunction light on. The only solution that I can come up with is that if the two wheel sensors do not correspond to each other. The system will actually show a fault for the front wheels instead of the rear wheels. This would actually be a problem in the coding of the ABS computer. Instead of the computer comparing wheel speeds to the speedo sensor circuit to determine wheel at fault. It compares wheel speeds to other wheel speeds with the front wheels taking priority to the rear wheels. Just thought I would post this in case if someone else has the same problem.

Re: Found ABS problem

I had my brakes pads replaced with the new "ceramic" pads the last time. Supposedly they run cooler (less disc warpage) and produce less dust (cleaner wheels). So far I have not had any problems with them.
