*<Want to replace 1993 Max SE Engine>*
Hi folks...I'm new to this forum and I own a 1993 Max SE with the DOHC V-6 engine...I have 186,000+ miles on it and recently experienced fuel injector and timing sproket problems. I am looking to buy a used engine to swap out and would like the following advice on these questions:
1) What is the newest year Maxima SE engine that I could put in my 1993? I'm checking various junk yards right now and most of the motors I am getting are from '92/'93 Max's with over 100K miles on them.
2) Any suggestions where I could either look (please reply with URL or phone #) or post for an engine?
Thanks for the help!

There was a thread that posted info about importing JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) VE30DEs http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....readid=144652. Also if your lucky you can part out the old VE, like sell the heads, intake manifold and other parts to make up for the $$ spent on the newer engine. Once you get the engine buy new exhaust manifold studs, check the VTC soleniods, replace all oil seals (front crank, camshaft, rear main oil seal, left/right side tranny oil seals, valve cover gaskets. That way you won't have to do it later and it is 100x easier when the motor is out.

How reliable is it to get another used VE30DE engine (I was thinking around 90-100K mileage) to carry me over? A good idea?
