Muffler

Anyone know if this would be a good buy performance wise? And has anyone ever had any experience with these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...853525473&rd=1

Yeah, mufflers are good. I've had a lot of experience with those things.

Stainless is good. But the split design is unnecessary. Will be truely loud...two straightthrough mufflers next to eachother..ricey, loud droning sound. Yuck. Just my opinion. Seen many of these types on local ricers. Will get some heads turning though.Just hacking off the stock muff and clamping this on will not make any power difference (that you can feel anyway). Get a WSP y-pipe..much better HP per dollar. Leave on the stock muff.

The design of the muffler is what I am not so crazy about. If you like noise then go for an aftermarket. But try another muffler design.

All from Jegs.com: Borla Turbo - $100, Dynomax Race Magnum - $60, Dynomax Super Turbo - $30! Those are the ones I'd choose from, personally. Those should sound good plus, they are universal so you can throw any kind of tip on it. I already have a Borla turbo (2.25") and have a WSP y, cat, 2.25" b pipe on the way from WSP (come on, hurry up with the shipping!!! ). When I get everything in, I'll get some comparison video of my stock exhaust and then the upgraded exhaust w/ Borla turbo. It should sound damn awesome but, I won't no for sure until I hear it with my own hears. Oh yeah, and if i can't get the video to work out, you guys might have to settle for some mp3's. Hehe, I think I'll also get some sound and/or video running open exhaust too!

FYI, a straight thru 'performance' universal muffler wont gain you jack performance wise.

It'll be loud, but wont make power.

My whole thinking on mufflers is that you should only get one for the sole purpose of changing your exhaust note to something you like more. It's not like mufflers give much of a increase in power (unless you have a TT car or something pumping out LOTS of power). So, the only reason I'd go get one is to make my Maxima sound better. I just hope mine won't sound bad since I won't have a resonator. I don't mind it a little loud, as long as it isn't Honda territory!
