Once you are certain the fuse and bulbs are good and getting power when in reverse (check with meter), check the wiring next. The switch is inside the trans, on the bottom near the speedo output. Not 100% sure (it's been a while since I had the trans apart) but I seem to remember thinkning how bad it would be to have that switch take a dump on me after all that work rebuilding the trans. Remebering those sentiments, if it is actually the switch, it will require cracking the case to change it. Get yourself a chilton manual. It will lead you right to the switch and tell you if you can or can't replace it easily. Good luck my friend!

I had that switch go out on me, it's not THAT bad to replace, but it will drain your tranny fluid so it gets messy. You can just pull the switch out, let it drain, put in a new one. My Hayne's manual had great instructions for the replacement, with pictures. Pick one up from Pep Boys or something.

It's a plastic cup with an o-ring that is plugged into the tranny, and is held on by a whole one bolt. The cup has a wire that goes up to a harness in the engine bay.

I think it cost around $30 for the dealer and comes with small switch that the cup holds in place.

I thought that was is, just wasn't sure, didn't want to give any more incorrect info than I already have!
