yes it was or maybe a bit behind. But I don't think loser features was too worried about that. I think he was more worried about getting us at the highest speed possible. I mean he was behind us for ages at the lights and he never turned his lights on till we were at 92 in a 50 area and we had travelled half a block.

So, anyway, i think this thread has digressed a little bit from my intention, which was to find other maxima owners in new zealand.
I can imagine matt will lock this some time in the very near future...

I only WISH, Scott! I'm in North Dakota, and I've YET to meet ANY org members that I didn't have to see without taking at least an 8-hour road trip.

They don't really do much for me either. I just like doing stuff to cars and ford seems to need things done to it reguarly. THere is also the good side that there is meets and cruises everymonth.

I had a 4th gen. Ask chchmax how a 2.5 auto beats a 3.0 auto in a straight line. Then you will realise how the normal maximas are a bit inferior compared to Japenese versions in the power department.

But hey, Ive looked around and found about 3 maximas (3rd and 4th gen) and all have been way overpriced and underspeced. If you know a good car sales area in Melb, please let me know. Who knows maybe I will get $500 trade for the falcon??

I just shopped around and bought my max privatly...I am not to keen on buying cars off a sleazy dealers in strait jackets (not to generalise lol), the prices that they charge are extortionate! I paid 12,000 AUD this year for my max (its in immaculate condition, service history etc) but I put a nasty gash in it since I took out my dad's new steel letter box...lol...the damn box was sunk into the ground in 2 feet of concrete...no suprise- it didn't budge

That is still pretty dare really. New Zealand is flooded with imports, but to a lesser degree now with new frontal impact standards, but you can pick up a max for around 7-11k mark for good examples.

chchmax has done a good job on his car considering what it looked like when it first rolled off the yard.

Yeh I don't think maximas are that cheap over here, though considering that the car was $40,000 AUD when it was on sale back in 1993...I think I got a pretty good deal since mechanics and are quite sound sound not to mention, the interior that looks new...I was willing to pay a little more for this.

I have only had it 6 months and have spent thousands on it and have many more plans.
