engine rebuild could be anything from doing a little bit of work on the heads and changing some gaskets, to tearing it completely apart and replacing everything in it.

Prices range from a few hundred to several thousand. if the engine is running, then you shouldn't have to worry about it period.

I've done it before, I'll do it again. #1--> TAKE YOUR TIME. Like Matt said, if it running, you should'nt have to do too much to restore lost power. If you want to build a racing engine, sure... you'll have a little more into it. If you plan on modifying the displacment, I'd have a machine shop perform most the assembly, just so they can dial it in, and make any adjustments as far as tolerances and machining go. However, if you're gonna leave most specs stock, and you just wanna restore horsies, then a home grown motor aint that far away.

Good Luck!
