I have had no problems at all with my JWT intake. Easy install, worked great the first run, has been working great for a few weeks now. Intakes are really not a serious mod at all, it's just replacing a panel filter with a cone filter, which lots of cars use stock, and bypassing alot of pointless tubing and some stuff that quiets down the sound of the intake air. Exhaust is the same, as long as it's installed right. Same as stock except slightly bigger tubing. Only mods to beware of are things like really really lowered suspension and stuff that majorly affects the car like that.

oh i see, but how much growl increase is there from the aftermarket cone (just the cone) not the intake piping?

80% of the sound increase is from the air intake of the cone being directly by the throttle body, as opposed to the air having to go through 3-4 feet of tiny tubing with some sort of sound suppression material in it. So if you siliconed an OEM panel filter to the throttle body it'd probably be a ton louder...however, the distinctive "growl" sound I believe does come from the design of the JWT and similar intakes. Dunno for sure though...
