92 SE tire pressure?

92 SE tire pressure?
Hi All,
I just bought a 92 maxima SE. manual, of course. very happy... Anyway, it doesn't have a sticker on the center console that is supposed to have a tire pressure. I searched the net, i got 26 and 29 psi recommendations. I think 26 is for manual and 29 is for automatic transmission (same both front and rear). Well, I wanted to verify it. Those who have the same car (or otherwise know) please let me know.
THanks a lot

Slightly overinflating or underinflating tires are OK, to adjust for your preference. As long as it's not extreme (like more than 10 psi difference!) Harder pressure give better response (to a point) because the sidewall flexes less. Lower pressure gives better ride.
The Explorer's tire problem, as I understand it, is because the factory tire pressure specification is already on the low side. Apparently the Firestone truck tires on Explorers made it ride like, well, a truck (which it is, really!). So to improve ride, Ford suggest a tire pressure that's probably close to the minimum neccessary for that tire. So when consumers never checked tire pressure and it fell below even the factory recommended pressure, it's now far below what the correct pressure for that tire should be. Hence the tires overheat and tread separate.

Re: Re: 92 SE tire pressure?
Thanks. However, is it automatic or manual? I think recommended tire pressure is different for AT and MT, as I said in the first post.
Agamemnon, you have 92 SE 5 spd. what does your sticker say?
thanks
