My brothers car again....
I come here yet again as my brother has called me with yet another strange problem. The last was diagnosed by the dealer as bad ECU, but was really his reverse wire shorting out on the tranny...that was tough to find, btw. That is fixed, now it seems whenever he puts it in gear he blows the 10A ENG CONT fuse. Any ideas what is going on here?

Will his car not start after it blows this fuse? I assume yes.
I had the same problem. It was basically to the point where I had to carry around a box of fuses with me so I wouldnt get stranded.
I can almost guarantee you it's the O2 sensor shorting itself out. Tell him to check the wiring coming out of the 02 sensor. Mine were all frayed and exposed and were hitting eachother and would make this happen.
The reason it does this when the car is put into gear is that putting the car in gear moves the engine/exhaust system just enough to make those wires hit themselves or something under there and in turn blow the fuse.
So, check the wiring and either tape them all off and fix up the faulty wiring, or better yet just buy a new 02 sensor.
If it's not this, then, well your brother looks to be in a crap-shoot. lol Good luck
