did you see how ugly the thing looks they had to put a more powerful engine in to compete with nissan. just because it has more power doesnt mean its gonna drive well either, as i found out with the new altima.

The 2K3 Accord is gonna have an optional 6spd.

And I agree it is really ugly. It looks like a Picasso painting of a new Civic or something...

I bet it will probably pull similar to slower times than the 20hp+ C/TLS...then we'll have even more of the V6 Honda/Acura guys complaining about how they got smoked by a Maxima! if Honda would get smart and make a 5spd, then there would be something to worry about!

all it comes in are 4 speed aout, 5speed auto for the ex and lx v6s and 5speed and auto for the regular ex, lx, dx

No I'm pretty sure you can get either a 5spd auto or 6spd manual...I'll check and make sure.

nope the V6s only get autos, and the 4cyl. get the auto or 5spd choice....unless they are planning somehting else, I haven't heard of any 6spd Accords. and I really doubt Honda would "waste"/throw a 6spd in an Accord, economically it doesn't seem right, accord is not considered a sport sedan. when I think Honda/Acura 6spd sport sedan I'd think more towards the C/TL-S series.

No separate exhaust manifolds on the V6, they're designed into the heads!!! Though no amount of squinting can make that care look attractive though.

The New accord is uglier than hell, weren't they supposed to be putting a manual in the v6? i heard a lot of talk about it but it looks like only a 5 speed auto

There is a 6spd, the same one in the CL Type-S. The other gearbox options are either five speed auto or five speed manual.

I'm not sure what trim levels, etc these gearboxes come in, but trust me, a 6spd is available on some level in the new Accord. I assume the V6 EX Coupe.

I'm reading the article now, as well as looking at the picture of the interior with the shifter shown and all 6 gears clearly marked on the shifter.

"The EX V6 Coupe with the six-speed manual transmission includes 17-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot tires and a 180-watt sound system. Expect the EX Sedan to cost about $21,000, the EX V6 Sedan about $25,000 and the EX V6 Coupe with manual transmission around $27,000."

They probably have not updated their site for the 2003 model year.

ok it can chirp...wanna cookie?
It's kinda nice though, to see they dont compare with the maxima anymore, but still try and make a show that they have competition for the alty.
That means the max has been stepped up another level on the ladder.
I wonder about the so-called 6-speed tho.
