And I agree it is really ugly. It looks like a Picasso painting of a new Civic or something...

No I'm pretty sure you can get either a 5spd auto or 6spd manual...I'll check and make sure.

There is a 6spd, the same one in the CL Type-S. The other gearbox options are either five speed auto or five speed manual.
I'm not sure what trim levels, etc these gearboxes come in, but trust me, a 6spd is available on some level in the new Accord. I assume the V6 EX Coupe.
I'm reading the article now, as well as looking at the picture of the interior with the shifter shown and all 6 gears clearly marked on the shifter.

"The EX V6 Coupe with the six-speed manual transmission includes 17-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot tires and a 180-watt sound system. Expect the EX Sedan to cost about $21,000, the EX V6 Sedan about $25,000 and the EX V6 Coupe with manual transmission around $27,000."

ok it can chirp...wanna cookie?
It's kinda nice though, to see they dont compare with the maxima anymore, but still try and make a show that they have competition for the alty.
That means the max has been stepped up another level on the ladder.
I wonder about the so-called 6-speed tho.
