remove the side door thin strips

remove the side door thin strips

hey you know the thin strips on the side of the doors, is there any easy way to remove that without peeling the paint??

not the molding im talking about the thing strip right below the door handle

are you talking about the small black strip that goes around the handle (top, bottom, side) if so they arent just a strip it is actually a big plastic seal that fits over the handle and goes to the outside to form a seal and it cant be taken off without cutting it off. If that is what your talking about do not mess with it or you will have leaks and a big gap where it once was.

if your talking about the side moldings (even though you said it wasnt the side moldings) there was some talk of that yesterday so find that thread.

Now if you got your up and downs mixed up and are talking about the black molding above the door hande and below the window (belt moldings) then yo have a couple of things that need to be taken off (I have done it but cant remember all the steps) its not hard if you just look and take your time...I think there is one or two bolts that have to come out first and then it is pressure fit and just pulls up.
