cup holders

Hey everyone. I am new to the site and new about cars. I actually don't know ANYTHING about cars, but my boyfriend is trying to get me into them and I just got a 1991 Maxima SE. I was wondering if anyone knows where and how I can find a in-dash cup holder (right under where the headunit would be). I always need to drink my coffee, when going to work, and I already spilled! Not even having the car a week.

What??? You mean I SHOULD have a cupholder???
I just use the seatbelt... An Extra-Large coffee from DnD fits perfectly between my *** and the center console, with the seatbelt to hold it in place

92-94 that did NOT come with the double-din cd/tape player combo should have a cupholder in the spot just below the headunit

earlier models had a fold down tray in that spot

I just had a DIN HU and one of those little storage box things... I feel gypped!
Not like I could use it now tho, my HU sticks out about 1/2" from the dash...

I have the same storage box and no cup holder. I just use it to hold my new portable digital clock now since my dash clock is busted

WoW - the correct spelling of the word gypped!

That is exactly what I am trying to find...but do you know if it fits firmly in that space beneath the headunit? I use this silly thing on the door, like it stays, but it wiggles around, and gets me nervous. The last thing I need is coffee stains on my left arm!

cupholders

you should do search on saab cupholders in the third generation forum. i remember a little while ago about someone posting that they put a single din sized legitamate cupholder in their maxima from a saab. it looked really nice and is about 1000 times better than stock. good luck.

yeah, it fits in there nicely and stays put (since it's made to fit the car)

only problem is it doesn't hold things much bigger than a 12oz can and it blocks some controls on the radio

check junkyards around your area for one; if not, the Nissan dealers will have it, but it'll probably be pretty expensive

Pretty neat. I was thinking about Cutting a hole in the bottom of the arm rest compartment and fiber glassing one into it.

Here's mine. Their only downside is they were made like crap and rattle. I'm going to find some better ones sometime.
