Mods and Life expectancy

I have a 92 GXE with about 85,000 miles on it and i would like to make sure i get at least another 85k out of it if possible. My question is do you guys feel that upgrading things such as the suspension, exhaust, new chip, etc. will prolong the life of my car? Its an auto GXE so i'm not really worried about being a speed demon but i know that most of these mods give you better gas mileage, less restistance w/exhaust and more air w/a CAI and these all seem like things that will make the car last longer. I'm tryin to stay away from a note as long as possible, so do the mods or spend the money on something newer (that will be stock) and hope for the best? Feedback in adddition to your votes would be appreciated.

Dude....85k man. That's a baby. Trust me.

I didnt mod my auto till 125k.

Any mods arent gonna really prolong the life of the car. You'll get slightly better mileage and stuff though.

Main thing is just regular maintanance. You've got a good 100k left in that.

Re: Mods and Life expectancy

James is correct. Mods will neither shorten nor lengthen the life of your car. You definitely have a lot of life left in that Max. 85K is very low. I currently have 153K and still runs like a champ. My car is more reliable than many friend's cars that are 5 years newer! I also started modding at around 110K. It doesn't hurt anything. I would be prepared for tranny problems. It appears to be a fact of life with the autos.

Whatever you spend on Mods will still be cheaper than any car note.
