Rear hubs

Hello, I am helping a friend do some maintenance on their '94 Maxima and have the shop service manual in hand. When I got around to checking the rear brakes I realized it shows a separate drum configuration, while the car appears to have an integral hub/drum assembly with a cotter pin and nut. I can undo the nut and remove the drum easy enough but do not have information on what the bearing preload should be upon reinstall. Is there a procedure/torque to be applied to the nut before running the cotter through? Thanks.

Of course there is a proper torque setting for that nut because it sets the bearing preload. I'm not sure what it is, but to check the prelaod, my Chilton shows a spring type scale thingy with hooks on both ends. Hook it to a stud positioned at the top aand pull straight toward the front of th ecar..this is how they show, but I don't know the numbers you are supposed to get on the scale to be within spec.
