'92 Se Dohc Sticky Gas Pedal

I have a '92 SE dohc with 125k miles. When the car is started cold in the morning or after a cool down during the day the gas pedal sticks at the beginning of the pedal travel. After it has run for a while this phenomana (sp) goes away. I adjusted the slack out of the throttle cables and that did nothing. Can anyone tell what the possible cause(s) for this might be?
Thank you!!!!

What do you mean by 'stuck'? What's the symptom? Do you feel the gas pedal itself sticking? How? Does it not move smoothly or you feel some resistance at the beginning of the pedal travel? Or do you feel it's not returning to full up position? Or is it more like your engine revs without you touching the pedal? If so, maybe it's not neccessarily your gas pedal. You mention you've adjusted the throttle cable. Did you check if the throttle plate moves correctly (the thing that the throttle cable attached to in the engine compartment, on the other end of the gas pedal)? Is it sticking? Maybe you can just clean the inside of your throttle body, or spray some kind of lubricant (WD40?) around the outside parts of the throttle body. I don't even know if that's OK though. Is WD-40 flammable? I wouldn't want to be held responsible if this causes a conflagration inside your engine compartment as you drive! )

Maybe you can also spray some lubricants around the hinges on the gas pedal itself.

try cleaning the throttle body (search for more info about that)

my dad had a similar problem with his F150 and after cleaning out the TB, it went away

I think the buildup was causing the sticky gas pedal but when the engine warmed up, the buildup wasn't as hard so it wasn't a problem
