Misfire again!! AAARGHHHH

My max has a misfire, again I've already changed the fuel injectors and plugs, and have narrowed it down to the coil packs. Is there a way to test them? I've already searched and couldn't find anything. Also, is it worth buying a brand new one from courtesyparts.com? Thanx!

Re: Misfire again!! AAARGHHHH

If you think one of the coil packs is not working, take it out and replace it with one of the ones you think is working. Is a different cylinder missing now? If it is....bad coil! If the same cylinder is still missing, start looking somewhere else.

I'm fighting the same problem but once I replaced the injector and that did not fix the misfire, I handed it over to my mechanic. He said the injector I installed was feeding to much gas and flooding the cylinder. He hasn't been able to get it replaced yet so we will see if yet another injector will fix the problem. *pray*

getting any codes fromt he enigne? could be a ECU problem ya know Air/Fuel mixture.. are you getting a large amount of exaust?? and does it smell like fuel?

-if it is a air fuel problem it could be almost any sensor.. if the O2 sensor is bad the check enigne light would not go on and no codes would be stored... just my 2 cents.. because i had a bad O2 sensor once and my car ran like ****.

The ECU doesn't send out any codes, and I tried swapping coils and it didn't change, so it's for sure that cylinder. Hmm, where to start.... By the way, that cylinder always had lower compression compared to the others, 160 or so rather than the 180 or so from the other cylinders.

The coils GO BAD, replace them. ALL OF THEM, consider it an ignition tune up.

Where should I get them? Courtesy parts have them for about $60. Good deal??

Coil Test

If you have access to a digital multimeter you can test them you remove them and test the resistance between contacts a&b it should be 8 ohm's or less. You can get a cheap meter for around 20 bucks in radio shack.
