question about muffler. hope you guys can help
My car (90 GXE) just got muffler replaced (one piece with resonator) because the resonator part connected to the analytic conveter got rusted and broke apart. Now on the new muffler, looking from the outside in the muffler, at the far end of the muffler tip inside, I see a circular piece of metal blocking the muffler. I got a long stick to reach in and poked at it, I felt strong resistance. Is that normal that that piece of metal is there blocking the muffler? I've never seen any thing like this. by the way it's the after market muffler.
The car seems to drive like normal. I don't know if it's just a feeling but if I rev up the engine a little I might hear some usual noise from the new muffler. Thanks a lot for your help.

I highly doubt the muffler is a straight through. You're hitting the chambers inside the muffler. lol It's fine.

I wouldn't worry about that too much if my car now sounded like the way it used to be with the factory muffler. It seems that the new muffler now has a low humming sound. is it too much to ask to have an after market muffler to sound like the original one? boy, it's the new muffler that makes me sound annoying. you guys understand it, right? sometimes you just love your car and just want the best for it.
please help.
