I took out my original Bose headunit on my 91 SE.

I still have the factory wiring harness intact. However, I am unable to find the wiring color codes anywhere on the Web.

Every place I have checked gives me the "generic" Nissan color codes. But what I have is totally different.

For example: The "generic" Nissan codes are as follows:

Rear Left Speaker + .... Red
Rear Left Speaker - .... Green

Rear Right Speaker + .... Blue
Rear Right Speaker - .... Pink

My wires colors are totally different. Does anyone know of a site on the Web that has the radio wire codes specifically for my Nissan Bose System. I have tried Installdr.com with no luck.

I got my wiring diagram from installdr.com, and it's almost completely on the money. Which particular wires are U looking for?? I've got a '92 SE, so there shouldn't be much difference in it at all, I'd think.

Do you have a Bose system?

The wires I am talking about are the "In Dash Radio Wire Colors".

They are totally different from what Installdr.com says.

Hmmm..... maybe they are talking about tne non-Bose stuff, cause I've got the Bose system. You might just be better off getting the harness adaptor instead. I'm not exactly sure what you are planning on doing, though, so I can't be as specific as I would like. Sorry....

Well, my old G20 had a bose system exactly like the Maxima I think..... it used the same head unit... I think I have the wiring diagram for harness I used. I bought a Nissan harness and rewired it for the Bose system... if I can find the paper I wrote all the colors on, I'll put them up.

I already have a harness adapter.

I already took out the rear Bose speakers with their amplifiers (on eBay right now) and installed aftermarket
6x9 speakers.

I am trying to decide which is the positive and negative speaker leads in the back.

That is why Installdr.com is of no help. Because I have different wire colors that what they state.

ok, you will have to cut the wires before they go into the built in amp for front and rear Bose speakers, but here are teh wire colors
left front: white=pos., black=neg. (there are 2 black ones going into that harness so look at the other harnesses to tell the orientation of which is which- every harness will have a red and black in the same position which are + and - for amp and then 2 more wires for + and - for the speaker which are what you need to be concerned with)
right front: white/green=pos., black/white=neg
left rear: white/blue=pos., black/blue=neg
right rear: white/red=pos., black/red=neg.

Thank you so much Craig.

You have answered my question fully. I thought I had the only car with those weird wire colors.

Thanks again.

Just wondering, the wiring harness I bought has one wire missing from the smaller connector.

Instead of having six wires, I only have five.
Four of them are for the rear speakers and one for the amp turn-on.

Do you know what wire is that for that I am missing.

haha, thanks

about the missing wire in your harness; I'm in the process of replacing my system so I found the same thing, but I looked in my FSM and found out that it is just the wire the turns on the relay for the built in amps so you wont need it if you're not using the bose stuff anymore
