im lookin at my new max

i went and test drove a 92 se 5 spd today. the guy wants 3000 and its black with black leather, 160k, Alloys .

Here are the defects:
-leather is tore on seam on the front driver seat
-passenger seemed fine, the rear at the top had some tear to it and some sun damage
-the front windshield has a line crack about 6 inches long
-front fogs are toast (but still work if replaced)
-clock doesnt work (whos doesnt expect that)
-left channel speakers are blown
-steering wheel and control arms are sunbeaten.

Here are the good things:
-No Knocking
-very smoothe engine
-Clutch feels strong and shifts great
-struts feel normal for 160k
-has had fuel pump, water pump, and timing belt done (140k)
-Tune up at 120k
-Went from 0-115 in 5 seconds

Overall this car just needs some love, and hell look at my last one i made over! These are cosmetic problems! The engine is strong and its 190hp! Trust me once you own a vg and you drive a ve you just want nut in your pants! and then kick yourself for not getting a few years higher. Let me know what you think!

Future plans include full bmw conversion w/angel eyes, skyline tails, shaved trunk, stillen kit, greddy sp, cai, y-pipe, cf hood, and cf ww touring wing, tv's inside, new leather, cf dash, and bezel. See you soon N3JZ

Lots of miles on that engine, you're up there with me, but you can't complain about the price really. Black on black looks great too

dont worry about the miles, I am at 247k...worry about him lying about replacing the timing belt, since the VE has timing chain and really never need to be replaced, I dont know of anyone who has replaced theirs.

Good eye. I didn't even notice he said belt. One of the first things I checked when I bought my car was if I needed to change my timing belt, then I found out it is chain driven and should never need to be replaced.
I would say if the transmission is strong, buy it.

Well the timing chain is sometimes changed because it can start making noises. It's a rare occassion when this would happen but I have seen cars do that at the shop. So ask him what's the deal with that?
