Help with Heater

Recently.. i Cant get my heater to work..When i switch the temp control ( which is kinda stuck).. Sometimes its really hard to switch it to the heat side..and when i finally do..it still dosent work

mine was the same way...it was hard to move it either way. It was the actual lever mechanism just inside the front panel. There is the part you can touch from outside that slides straight across, but it moves a lever inside that has a pivot point. The slide part had worn out and didn't want to move easily, as the "track" it slides on had broken free. Since it's molded plastic, there was no fix but to find junk yard parts.

My maxima is a beater...wrecked, dirty and not worthy of much repairs anymore...

so I pulled out the sliding part and now stick a screwdriver in to move the lever back and forth. It actually will go farther to each side this way so you get a hotter heat.
