Is it possible to put VG30DETT pistons, rods, cams,& injecters into a ve motor. The reason why i ask this is because i want to run a t3/t4 turbo, front mounted ic and 10-12psi of boost.Well to the experts out there please give me some facts and opinions.

Sorta.. The cams might require some work and so does the ECU. The other stuff should bolt in(the VG30DE(TT) stuff has the same specs as VE stuff.

Actually all you need is some forged 8.5CR pistons, they might be cheaper than VG30DETT pistons. You don't need the cams because they are the same spec from VE30DE to VG30DETT. Your main concern should be fuel and tuning. I say get some 420cc injectors since they are cheaper than Z32TT ones. Get a JWT ECU, Z32TT fuel pump, 370cc or 420cc injectors. I can tell ya now a proper IC kit is going to cost around $1500+ not to mention you have to modify the front bumper. Also the BB T3/T04E turbo's are around $800, I believe Tial makes the best wastegate. Hell I say just use a T3 at first then upgrade later. Your looking at around $3k to do an upgrade from the T3 to a T3/T04E.

Your prices are way over exagerated. You can get a set of used VG30DETT pistons and rods for $400. Also a IC kit won't cost you $1500. You could probably put one together with exhaust tubing and a good core for around $500. Ball bearing turboes are also not really as great as everyone thinks. If you get dirt in it and it blows you cannot rebuild them. You have to buy a new one. A regular T3/T4 will cost you around $500 and requires no other mods. You just bolt it on. I don't know what the $3k is for..

You didn't factor in the cost of disassembling the engine. The labor for the piston install itself is going to be around $1-1.5k. IMHO if your serious about turbing your max you should buy the injectors, fuel pump, turbo now. Then take your car to a shop that works with turbo cars (preferably nissans). I believe a turbo conversion should be around $2800-3500 for a T25-T3 and/or $5k+ for a complete T3/TO4E. Even the Fmax turbo kit for the SR20DE's is around $3500-4000. To me the VG30DETT internals is overkill, unless you have the $$$ to put that much power down stock internals is fine. BTW a T3/TO4E at 16psi would put down around 300fwhp+, at 22psi with race gas you can do around 375-390fwhp. You will have no traction in 1st or 2nd gear, probably broken drive axles and CV's.

What if you plan on doing this yourself? Like someone I know *cough* me! *cough*. I did buy injectors, Nismo 550 cc ones. Then the seller pulled out of the deal. VG30DETT internals might be overkill on a VG but not on a VE. You're gonna need something in there to drop the compression. No one in my area is a tuning expert like Larry Widmer(The Old One) that can run 20+ psi on a stock ITR bottom end. I also remember a certain somebody telling me that a VG-T with bolt ons and injectors was producing around 350-375 fwhp with 15 psi. Its all good bro

Ok so the cams are unnecssary but the pistons and rods will fit, along with the injecters, and fuel pump.Well i'm looking to spend around $3.5-4500 for the whole operation.I'm looking for a turbo thats easiest to bolt on and gives a sufficient amount of gains say about 320fwhp.As far as the shop its kinda hard for me to find one here in N.Y.C that can work on nissans they all seem to be in cali, well i guess i have to keep on looking until i find one.Nismo u said the t3 would be a good choice, isn't that the same turbo used in the older style z and what type of gains should i expect from that.o and one last thing $400 for the pistons is good mikie were did you get yours from?

You can find used VG30DETT stuff on TwinTurbo.NET.

Don't expect your tranny or drive axles to last long. I hope you have a 5spd otherwise, your looking at $3.5-4k for the turbo and $3k for the tranny rebuild. Now 300fwhp would be nice but if you abuse the tranny, the axles will break. Not to mention you'd need a race type clutch (assuming your 5spd), that will chatter like hell and his hard to modulate. I think a bolt on T3 at 8-9psi would gain around 25-35fwhp depending on how its tuned. Don't forget its the stock fuel system and compression limiting boost. Take it from me I have ridden in a SC and NOS 4th gens that run 13's. You will have absolutly no traction in 1st gear, probably not in 2nd gear either. Have you found a shop that can do this custom turbo for you? Now that I think about it if you get more than 25-35fwhp, the stock clutch might not hold. So figure another $500 for the 6 puck ACT clutch kit install. Throw in your s-afc and some dyno tuning sessions. All i have to say is good luck! IMHO with a VE I would just put in a 65 shot and call it a day. With the JWT ECU with N2O program, race gas, slicks = 13's in an auto with (TC and VB) or 5spd. As a matter of fact I was going to put my max on the bottle but it died before I could .
