For all you sluggish VE guys....
I have a tidbit of info that you may or may not find interesting/useful. Turns out one of the jeep guys where I work has been a Nissan 'master' for several (25) years, and I pumped him for some info. In casual conversation he mentioned how when he worked for Nissan, people never ran 92 octane in their VE's and always complained of poor performance. (Which we know)
What got me is that he explained how once the VE pings and the ignition is retarded for a certain period of time, the ECU won't advance the timing back to where it was without being reset. He also mentioned that the only true way to do a reset of the ECU and regain the timing is to use the Nissan Analyzer tool which actually electronically resets the registers so it will relearn. He did say that leaving the battery unplugged would reset most registers, but not all.
I trust this guy's knowledge completely, and I didn't make it up so don't flame me if ya don't belive it
We were talking about how it was pretty retarded (lol retarded) that the ignition wouldn't reset itself even after the ping was remedied.

I know this might sound stupid, but this means its not gonna be really bad for the car to run 93 octane in it right? since my model ('89) takes 89-92 octane. Or am I going to get pinging if I do this.
