dash calibration

Hello , i replaced my digital dash with a used one in my 89 max, now the speedo registers while idiling, if the ignition is on it says 0, when i start it it goes to between 10-20 and when i rev it up the speedo increases with the tachometer. Anyone know how to recalibrate or has this happened to anyone else

Re: dash calibration

look in a haynes manual and you should find your answer, it seems to me that when you installed the digi dash you hooked up the tacho to the speedo.

Thanks I'll check the connections, It seems to me that the connections are all different but I will check, the tachometer seemed to work fine.

I checked the connections and they are all different, so i dont thinkg plugging it in wrong is an option. Has anyone experienced their digital dash showing a speed while engine is running and car not moving

on the top of the tranny right above the right axle. it's a little cylinder with two wires coming out and has one bolt holding it in.

mine does that. i dunno if my dash was ever replaced....
it does is when its cold it seems.
i just gotten used to it and pretend i'm going back in time while i wait for the car to warm up.
if you plan on selling the car get this fixed because even if you aren't moving and it does that, your mileage increases.
makes me wonder if my car truly does have 155k on it....
