Manual Trannies

Need to replace the bearings in my manual tranny, which of the following paths is recommended:

1) replace bearings and seals individually
2) look for a bearing kit
3) replace the gearbox (if so, what is the expected cost)

Trying to weigh out my options for both time and cost efficiency.

You have to disassemble the tranny to get to the bearings and seals anyway, so you might as well just do a complete rebuild. Then you only have to do it once. The bearings and seals won't cost too much... it's the labor. I'd get new synchros put in too and have them check over everything, and go to a place with a warranty!

Seriously, the warranty helps, unless of course you are doing the work yourself for $$$ reasons. Just get a precision rebuild from a place that is performance oriented, like Pro-tech transmissions, and have ashop install it for you.
