Exhuasts, Y/B/X Pipes, Cat. Converters
OK OK OK - SO the exhaust is like a vaccum for the air that was used in the engine. Got that.
[U]QUESTIONS:[/B]
1) On a V6 - oem pipes have a smaller radius than aftermarket pipes right?
2) Bigger pipes increase amount of air flowing out making more horsepower or torque?
3) What does a catalytic converter do?
4) How much performance gain will there be w/ jdm or random tech. catalytic converter?
5) Same question w/ x,y, & b pipes...

some answers:
1: Yes, the OEM pipes are smaller
2: Larger pipes allow more air to flow out, reducing backup in the flow of air from the engine, making the engine not have to work as hard to move air out, allowing it to give more push to the wheels
3: Catalytic Converter is there to convert emissions to more "nature-friendly" gases, which is why drilling holes in them stops you from passing emissions tests
4 and 5: don't have exact numbers, have to have someone else answer those.
