I saw a picture of a 3rd gen with a nice grille, it looked stock, except there was no Nissan logo on the grille, what kind of grille is this, somebody said it wasa billet grille. Are they difficult to make? or how much do they cost? where can youbuy them? I like these grilles more than the mesh ones.

Most likely custom....

you can buy Billet material at Summitracung.com and then cut it to fit your grille, personally I like Billet grilles too, but I kinda think it only looks good on trucks(like they mainly make it for), but hey whatever floats your boat..

Not sure about....

Stillen's part numbers, but here are some numbers form summitracing.com, they're designed for pick-up trucks, but I'm sure they're big enough to be cut and designed to fit our Max grilles:
SUM-G80100(for regular size pick ups) and if you wanna be sure you have enough material to work with, here is one that fits the entire front grille section of a Suburban(which is probably 2x bigger than our stock grille so you'll have plenty of material to cut):
STU-10083

prices are about $50-80, see what you think

I've decided to do a Billet grille.......

I figure why pay $700 when you can do it yourself for $60-100 with some tools and a little time. I plan to insert billet tubes in my stock grille and possibly in my Stillen front lip, think it'll look pretty good!!

DA-MAX, make sure you post some pics when your done. i thought the coolest looking thing on the "Master Image Customs" Max was the billet grilles. 700 bucks is crazy though for a grille.

I'm going to try to do it next month whenI get the parts, heres the type of look I'm shooting for--> Billet Grille on Impala! I think it'll look sweet, but I've gotta decide if my foglights will still fit, hmmm.......

Re: Re: I'll have plenty of pics.........

Yeah, I doubt I'll be able to make it flush like that particular grille too, but my goal is to try to fit at least nine tubes into the stock grille(if possible) and then another 7 or 8 into the Stillen lip. All I can say is I hope it works, I'll only find out when I do it!! I'm going to try to drill the holes to insert the tubes as close to the "front" of the grille as possible, to make it look like a "flush" job, but we'll see how it turns out, all I know is I'll have spare replacement grille sitting around incase I F'up!!
