electrical problem?

over the past week or so, when ill be driving my car at night, my dash lights alternate between dim and bright light at random. sometimes when i step on the brake pedal they dim significantly, but as soon as let off the brakes they light up brightly again. also, on one or two occassions that ive noticed, the battery light on my dashboard will somewhat fade-on, and then within the next 10 seconds or so it goes off. the car seems to be driving fine, but could this be the start of any sort of serious electrical problem? thanks

92 gxe, and the battery and alternator are both less than a year old.

Fisrt tihng you should do is go have your battery/alternator checked out. I know Sears and other places will do it for free.
