1: most important. take the tails off the car
1a:clean the lights
2:mask off the area you dont want tinted, make sure you get EVERYTHING you dont want the spray on
3: spray onto newspaper or something else you dont care about to make sure the nozzle isnt gunked up
4:spray VERY lightly over the lights
5:let the thin coat dry
6:repeat 4 and 5 until desired tint is achieved

Also make sure you have a way of getting it off. It is illegal and if you are caught, it will need to be removed asap.

Acetone did/does not work. Basically your only option is wet sanding.

i used it on my tailights and it cleaned off the tint spray easily.
i guess some brands of tint spray need to be removed differently.

i believe i did like 4 or 5 light coats. it's noticeable but not exremely dark.
* make sure you spray even coats. it's so easy to screw this up. and you'll notice it right away if one area is darker than another. *

also as far as mine being dark, if you look at it, it looks black, you cant see any red unless the lights are on. looks exactly the same as ngthing's.

1) I have the black panel in the back of my Max for the 89 SE version and I just wanted to know if I should spray that as well cuz I don't want different shades of black in the back or will it come out the same as the panel?
2) I know this is a dumb newbie question but how do you take off the taillights and possibly the center piece, I think there's some bolts somewhere but not sure?
3) How long should I wait between each coats to dry and how long should I let it all dry before I put the lights back on the car?
Thanks.

2) there are "studs" on the inside, you have to take the carpet off on the inside of the lights to get to them, i believe they're 8mm nuts, a deep socket would help alot, i had to use a closed ended wrench..big PITA.
3) i waited 5 hours between coats and let them sit for a day and a half after the final coat before they went back on the car, but i dont know how long you're supposed to wait. i just coated them once, went to work, got home and did it again, then waited until i had time a day or so later.
you'll need a hair dryer or heat gun to take out the tailights.
i say take the tailights out first, spray em' and compare them to the center piece before you take the center piece off. it'll save ya a little time.
**remember** take your time and apply very light coats. i waited about 1 hour in between coats.

its to heat up the silicone/sealant/sticky-black-**** thats sealing the tailight to the frame in addition to the three or four bolts.
unless mine is different....i had to use a hair dryer to heat up the sealant so that the tailight unit would come out...it wasn't coming out unless i heated it up.

the bolts should be very obvious if you look at it, i mean theres a bracket that helps hold them in, that needs to come off(also bolted on). i dont want to sound like a d*ck, but just look at it there isnt anything hidden, if its not coming out slowly (because of the sealant), look for another bolt.

a little disclaimer: you're going to need to retint, its inevitable so if you're going to do it one way, get familiar with it so you can do it again.

mask off everything really well. even things you wouldnt think would get overspray (trunk lid in my case). might just be easier to cover the lower tails with tape, then tape newspaper over the rest of the tail of the car. biggest mistake ever was not completely taping my lid.
