I am trying to install a new cd player into my 89 max se. I have tried 2 cdplayers hooking them up correctly but it doesn't seem to get power. Red for power, yellow for constant power and black for ground. Could anyone tell me if I am hooking it up wrong?

 

Maybe you should post in the Audio and Electronics forums at the bottom of all the discussions, you would probably get your answer a lot faster.

 

On my 90, the black wire doesn't do anything for some reason. When I got the car, the shop had installed a pioneer cd player, but the ground was spliced to the negative on the cigarrette lighter. I thought that was lame and didn't do it that way for the sony I had. It wouldn't work until I used the cig lighter ground again. Probably something weird with my car.
