polishing question, have searched

I've been searching a lot for this question and have not found an answer. On the picture I have included here, what is the best way to go about polishing what I have circled? Also, what metal is it?

any help is much appreciated!

If you really want to do it yourself and have an air die grinder then check out summit racing, Jegs, or jc whitney for a intake polishing kit. They are like 20-30 (or used to be) and has everything you need to do it.

If you do not have an air die grinder it will be a lot more difficult.

yeap..right now i'm awaiting a few more tools before I can open up www.hipershine.com for business.

Anyway...i'll offer some tips for how you can do it at home yourself with pretty okay results.

You would have to sand the roughness out of it first, using a rotary tool with the sanding bits you can get off the rough surface. Then you can use some polishing compounds (available at home depot)..Use a polishing wheel to rub the compound onto the metal till it shines thats pretty much it for a DIY job.
